The Norwich Cathedral Girl Choir was founded in 1995, a pioneering move at the time and one of the first Cathedrals in England to take this long overdue step. The Girls' Choir has grown and flourished over the years to become one of the prominent in the country, and has produced some wonderful talent that has gone on to become professional singers and musicians and also more recently semi-finalists in the BBC Young Girl Chorister of the Year.
One of the last services before the December 2020 lockdown was All Souls Requiem, sung by the girls and men of the choir. A truly spine-tingling Pie Jesu from Fauré's Requiem set a poignant tone for the ensuing restrictions that came into place shortly afterwards.
The much anticipated 25th reunion fell once again as a casualty to the Covid restrictions, however a wonderful tribute can be found below to commemorate the anniversary. It is hoped that once we are able to, the ex-Choristers Guild together with the Cathedral and current choir, we can celebrate the wonderful achievement in suitable style.
